The book "A Million dollar Throw" by Mike Lupica Was about a young boy named Nate Brodie who loved everything about football. Nate goes by the nick name of "Brady" because of his favorite play Tom Brady. one day Nate goes with his mom and best friend, Abby to buy a signed Tom Brady ball that he always wanted. Once Nate bought the ball he was entered into a raffle for the chance to win 1,000,000 dollars. All he had to do was throw a football into a hole from 30 yards away. He won that raffle so Nate had to practice for that throw.
Nate was the star quarterback for his school team the valley patriots and wanted to lead his team to the championship and work on his throw to make nice passes and get ready for the million dollar throw, but Nate started to slack on his game because major things in his life started to change. His house won't sell on the market, his parents are owe the bank a lot of money, and his best friend, Abby is losing her sight. Nate has a huge friendship with Abby and wants her to stay with him for ever but since she is going blind Abby is going to have to go to a school special for blind people. this makes Nate realize how much he needs that 1,000,000 dollars.
Nate starts to realize how much money Nate's parents really need the money to pay the bank. He knows 1,000,000 dollars is a lot but its not enough to solve all his problems, but it is enough to solve one happy ending. The day finally arrives when Nate gets to take the field and make his life changing throw before he trows the ball he he starts warming up when his favorite player, Tom brady comes to play catch with him to warm him up. The pressure was on for Nate as he threw the ball from the 30rd yard line.
In conclusion Nate's past couple of months have been torture for him. i think over the coerce of the book his friendship was the strongest thing about him because he always was able to make anyone happy especially Abby. Also even though his dad wasn't around as much trying to make money he stilled loved his dad. I think even though they didn't say how much of a strong over all person he really was it wasn't hard to figure that out.
